Day 1 Arrival in Algiers
On arrival, you are met and transferred to the hotel.The rest of the day is free at leisure.
Overlooking the waters of the Mediterranean, Algiers began life as a Phoenician trading post, but it was the 10th century Berbers under Bologhine ibn Ziri who began the city’s rise to prosperity. Over time it fell to the Almohades, the Ottomans and the French, before a bloody struggle for independence finally saw the Algerians wrestle control from their colonial overlords in the early 1960’s.

Day 2 Algiers (B)
Today, enjoy a full day city tour of Algerian capital. Much of the historic heart of the city dates back to Ottoman times and includes the impressive facade of the Ketchaoua Mosque.Without doubt the city’s most iconic structure is the impressive Cathedral of Notre Dame d’Afrique, an imposing 19th century basilica that commands stunning views across the Bay of Algiers.
On to Kasbah of Algiers, an UNESCO’s heritage. It stands in one of the finest coastal sites on the Mediterranean, overlooking the islands where a Carthaginian trading-post was established in the 4th century BC. There are the remains of the citadel, old mosques and Ottoman-style palaces as well as the remains of a traditional urban structure associated with a deep-rooted sense of community.
We will visit the 3 Museums, Monument of Martyr and Elmojahid Museum, Palais de Relais.
Day 3 Algiers – Tipaza – Djanet Sahara (B/L)
This morning, we check out and proceed to for a full day excursion of the historical city of Tipaza, the Royal Mausoleum and the archeological Park.Tipaza was an ancient Punic trading-post conquered by Rome and turned into a strategic base for the conquest of the kingdoms of Mauritania. It comprises a unique group of Phoenician, Roman, palaeochristian and Byzantine ruins alongside indigenous monuments such as the Kbor er Roumia, the great royal mausoleum of Mauretania.
Visit the Royal Mausoleum of Mauritania and learn the historical city of Tipaza.
Continue to Cherchell town, the seat of Cherchell District in Tipaza Province, formerly a Roman colony and the capital of the kingdoms of Numidia and Mauretania. Visit fish market plus Cherchell museum and enjoy a seafood lunch.

Return to Alger airport for an evening flight to Djanet and on arrival, you are transferred to an traditional residence for overnight.

Day 4 Djanet Sahara (B/L/D)
Djanet is a picturesque oasis town located in the southeastern part of Algeria, in the heart of the Sahara Desert. Nestled at the foot of the Tassili n’Ajjer mountain range, Djanet is known for its stunning desert landscapes, dramatic rock formations, and ancient prehistoric rock art.The town serves as a gateway to the Tassili n’Ajjer National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its thousands of cave paintings, some dating back as far as 10,000 years. These rock paintings offer a glimpse into the lives of the prehistoric peoples who inhabited the area, depicting animals, humans, and hunting scenes from a time when the region was more fertile and populated.
Djanet is also a starting point for exploring the vast sand dunes, canyons, and stone arches of the surrounding Sahara. The serene and remote beauty of the region, combined with its cultural and historical significance, makes it a popular destination for travelers seeking adventure, history, and a unique desert experience. The region is also home to the nomadic Tuareg people, whose rich culture and traditions add to the area’s allure.

Day 5 Djanet – Constantine (B)
Today, we visit to Djanet’s traditional market, which is a vibrant, lively place where local residents, including the nomadic Tuareg people, gather to trade goods. It offers a variety of items, including Traditional Tuareg silver jewelry, leatherwork, and handmade textiles, Local food and spices, traditional Tuareg garments like indigo-dyed tagelmusts (head coverings) and flowing robes made from lightweight materials to suit the desert environment and Carpets and rugs, often woven by hand, these intricate items reflect the patterns and colors of the Sahara.The city tour offer an authentic glimpse into the daily life and culture of this remote desert town, offers more than just a look at the Sahara’s natural beauty—it immerses you in the history, traditions, and everyday life of one of the desert’s most culturally rich regions.
This evening transfer to the airport for Constantine flight.

Day 6 Excursion to Djmila & Tour of Constantine (B)
Early this morning, we head out to the impressive ancient Roman city of Djemila, a UNESCO World Heritage site considered one of the finest in North Africa.The wheel-rutted streets of ancient Cuicul, founded by Nerva to house his subjects, are lined with what would have been elaborate houses, a forum, basilica, triumphal arches and temples. It is a fascinating example of Roman town planning adapted to suit its mountain location. Equally impressive is Djemila’s fascinating museum, where every square inch of the immense walls are plastered with mosaics.
In the afternoon, we return to Constantine for the city tour of Constantine.
Constantine or ‘Cirta’ with its dramatic setting amongst precipitous cliffs and deep gorges. The French writer Alexandre Dumas called it ‘a fantastic city’, something like Gulliver’s flying island. Founded 2,000 years ago, a plateau surrounded by deep ravines was a great place to build because the city could be easily defended. Since then Constantine has outgrown the plateau and spilled over into the adjoining areas. They are connected to the old city by seven high bridges hence the title ‘City of Bridges’.
We will visit Sidi Imsid, Suspension bridge, Sidi Rached Bridge, the Monument of Deads, Prince Abdelqader Mosque, Elbay Ahmad palace and Certa Museum.
Day 7 Constantine – Timgad & Biskra (B)
This morning, we drive from Constantine to visit Timgad historical city.Timgad, often referred to as the “Pompeii of North Africa,” is a remarkable ancient Roman city in Algeria. Founded by Emperor Trajan in AD 100, Timgad (known in antiquity as Thamugadi) was originally a military colony and later developed into a thriving Roman settlement. It is one of the best-preserved Roman ruins in the world and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Timgad’s preservation allows visitors to vividly imagine life in a Roman provincial city, and stands as a powerful reminder of the reach and influence of the Roman Empire in North Africa.
Explore Wadi Elghoufi, a picturesque valley located in the Aurès Mountains. This beautiful natural site is characterized by its deep gorges, steep cliffs, and the tranquil river that flows through it, creating a stunning contrast between the arid landscape and the lush vegetation along the water. Wadi Elghoufi is not only known for its natural beauty but also for its historical and cultural significance in the region.

Day 8 Biskra – Tougort (B)
Today, continue drive to Tougort, a historic oasis city located in the northeastern part of Algeria, at the edge of the Sahara Desert. It serves as the capital of the Touggourt District and is part of the larger Ouargla Province. Known for its rich cultural heritage, date palm groves, and desert landscapes, Touggourt has been a crossroads for traders and travelers for centuries.Visit Tamacin historical Islamic palace, a significant example of Islamic architecture in the region and reflects the historical and cultural heritage of the area.
See the lake Touggourt, also known as Chott Touggourt, surrounded by the desert landscape of the Sahara. It acts as a natural reservoir for the area, collecting runoff and groundwater. It is a significant salt lake which is a part of the larger Chott Basin, a system of salt flats and lakes in the region. It is a seasonal lake, and during the wet season, it can expand significantly, while in the dry season, it may shrink or even dry up completely.

Day 9 Touggourt – Ghardaia (B)
Continue drive to Ghardaia via Ourgla, a prominent city in northeastern Algeria, serving as the capital of the Ouargla Province. It was an important trading post in the trans-Saharan trade routes, linking North Africa with sub-Saharan Africa. And the city has been a center of Islamic culture and education, with historical sites reflecting its rich heritage.In the afternoon, arrive Ghardaia.
A short visit the traditional market and Kasr Ghardaia, renowned for its unique architectural style, historical significance, and its role in the heritage of the Mozabite people, a Berber ethnic group.

Day 10 Ghardaia Full Day Tour (B)
A full day visit to Ghardaia along with the four surrounding Kasres—Bounoura, Melika, El-Atteuf, and Bani Yezgen—offers an enriching experience of the M’zab Valley’s unique architecture, culture, and history.Head to Bounoura, which is about 50 km southeast of Ghardaia. The drive should take approximately 1 hour. Walk through Bounoura’s Kasbah, which features similar architectural styles to Ghardaia but with its own unique elements.
Visit the local market if time allows, to experience the small-town charm and see local crafts.
In the afternoon, proceed to Melika, which is approximately 50 km northwest of Bounoura. This drive should take around 1 hour.
Explore Melika’s Kasbah, noting its architectural similarities and differences from Ghardaia. Discover its local charm and historical significance.
Continue to El-Atteuf, about 30 km north of Melika. This drive should take roughly 45 minutes. Visit El-Atteuf’s Kasbah to see its historical buildings and traditional architecture. Learn about the history and culture of the area.
Finally, head to Bani Yezgen, approximately 50 km west of El-Atteuf. The drive will take around 1 hour.
Conclude your tour by exploring Bani Yezgen’s Kasbah. Note any unique features and enjoy the serene atmosphere of this historic site.
Day 11 Ghardaia – Algiers
This morning, you are transferred to the Ghardaia Airport for your flight to Algiers.Arrive Algiers in time to connect with your international flight home.
