Description

Day 1: San Jose Arrival
On arrival, meet and greet at San Jose Airport. You are transferred o your hotel.

Time is free to explore on your own for the rest of the day.

Day 2: San Jose – La Fortuna (B, L)
This morning, after breakfast, you are picked up from the hotel.

Admire the imposing Poás Volcano at a height 8.884 ft above sea level. Visit a unique coffee plantation and the historic city of Sarchí on this exciting day trip.

Our first stop is Poás Volcano National Park, where you will enjoy magnificent views of the Central Valley and the volcano´s enormous crater – considered one of the largest in the world!

Next, we will visit the beautiful coffee plantations at Doka Estate. You will be guided through the estate, visiting the plantations and the 96 year old “beneficio” or coffee mill. Learn how the best coffee beans turn into a fabulous cup of java before enjoying a regional Costa Rican lunch.

Continue to the town of Sarchí, home to Costa Rica’s most experienced artisans. Here, see first-hand how typical oxcarts are built and painted, indulge in buying the local’s beautiful wood souvenirs!

Day 3: La Fortuna (B)
Day at leisure.

Choose to go on a optional Horseback Riding to La Fortuna Waterfall or hike in Arenal Volcano National Park or go white water rafting through the rainforest.

Day 4: La Fortuna – Monteverde (B)
Travel across Lake Arenal into the mountains and on to Monteverde Cloud Forest.

Day 5: Monteverde (B)
Enjoy a lofty adventure in the canopy of the Monteverde Cloud Forest. With a combination of suspended footpaths and bridges (some over 980 feet long and exceeding the height of the forest canopy) our Sky Walk will allow you to appreciate the breadth and depth of our local flora and fauna. With our guide by your side, we are certain you will enjoy this walk among the clouds.

Next, our Sky Tram will take you into Monteverde’s Cloud Forest during a 5,249 foot long ride that will take you up to Costa Rica’s Continental Divide. See a variety of plants and animals along the way! Finally, zip from cable to cable on our fast-flying Sky Trek! As you soar over the treetops on a series of 10 different cables, enjoy fantastic views! The cables travel a total distance of 13,387 feet, with some cables reaching 2,526 feet and heights up to 460 feet!

Day 6: Monteverde (B)
Experience one of the best zip line canopy tours in Costa Rica! With longer, higher cables, this promises to be the fast-flying adventure of a lifetime! After a brief training on safety and technique, the fun begins. As you soar through the trees enjoy plenty of opportunities to see the landscape and natural beauty of the area including trees, aerial ferns, bromeliads, orchids, birds and others animals. Join us on a journey that is sure to take your breath away!

You will also have an opportunity to hike the hanging bridges. Easy to walk on and at a medium height from the ground, this series of eight bridges allows you to experience the forest from a different perspective. Fully separated from the other activities, the sounds of nature are sure to be heard as you walk. It´s fun for the whole family!

Day 7: Monteverde – Quepos (B)
Transfer from Monteverde to Quepos.

Day 8: Quepos (B)
Cruise past Manuel Antonio National Park on a catamaran tour Snorkel and swim in warm tropical waters on the morning tour, or catch a panoramic view of the sunset on the afternoon tour Enjoy a typical Costa Rican lunch of rice, beans, and meat skewers along with natural fruit juice

Day 9: Quepos (B)
Full day at leisure or take an optional Savegre River Whitewater Rafting Trip

Day 10: Quepos – San Jose (B)
Transfer to San Jose Airport for your flight home
