DAY 2 VALLETTA, MALTA (B)
After breakfast in your hotel, you will be picked up at 9:00 am by your guide and start your tour with your English speaking guide.

Valletta celebrated its 450th birthday in 2016 – according to local scholars, work on the city of Valletta start in March 1566, after Valletta’s important role in the Great Siege against the Ottoman empire in 1565. It was Europe’s first planned city and its strongest and finest fortified city.

Today, it has been architecturally revitalized, thanks to its remodelled City gate, Parliament building and Opera House. Stops include National Museum of Archaeology, St. John’s Co-Cathedral and Oratory to see its two Caravaggio masterpieces and the Casa Rocca Piccola.

End the day with a walk through the upper Bakkarra Gardens which borders Valletta’s bustling harbour.

DAY 3 VALLETTA, MALTA (B)
After your breakfast at hotel, at prearranged time confirmed by your guide, you will start an archaeological excursion with your English speaking guide.

In the morning, drive to Hagar Qim and Mnajdra Temples. Set on a cliffside hilltop, these gigantic prehistoric temple complexes were built between 3,600 BC and 2,500 BC. If we’re lucky, the approach to Mnajdra, also known as a calendar in stone, will be ablaze with fields of poppies.

After lunch in the charming fishing port of Marsaxlokk, continue to the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum, Malta’s most astonishing ancient treasure – a vast 5,000-year-old underground cemetery.

DAY 4 VALLETTA, MALTA (B)
After breakfast at your hotel, meet your guide at prearranged time by your guide, you will continue the sightseeing.

Visit the beautiful walled city of Mdina, Malta’s original capital which is still home to many of the island’s oldest families. Also known as the Silent City because cars are (mostly) banned, it’s a treasure trove of medieval grand palazzi, monasteries, churches, cathedrals and museums – all scattered among the honey-coloured stone houses that line its narrow streets.

After lunch, spend some time in adjacent Rabat where the Apostle Paul is said to have lived after he was shipwrecked here in AD 60.

We’ll begin with a 30-minute sightseeing train tour that goes through the heart of Rabat, then veers outside past Ghar Barka and Mtarfa – a route giving passengers magnificent views of Mdina and Malta – before looping back to end at the Domus Romana.

Lastly, we’ll drop into the Domus Romana to see the finest mosaics and frescoes from the Roman era that remain on the island.

DAY 5 VALLETTA MALTA – GOZO ISLAND – VALLETTA, MALTA (B)
After breakfast at your hotel, meet your guide at prearranged time by your guide, you will continue the sightseeing.

Catch an early ferry this morning to nearby Gozo Island. We’ll start with a visit to the “capital” Victoria’s Citadel, It has been nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Walking along the fortified ramparts, we’ll have wondrous 360-degree panoramas of the island’s hills, valleys, villages and countless churches. Inside are a magnificent baroque cathedral, the Bishop’s Palace and working Law Courts.

While there, we’ll also stop at the Museum of Archeology and the Folklore Museum which features reconstructions of Gozitan rural life. The Folklore Museum in Gozo’s Citadella was recently rebranded and is now known as the Gran Castello Historic House.

After lunch, we drive to the Ggantija Temple complex, home of the world’s oldest free-standing temple that pre-dates both the Pyramids and Stonehenge by more than 1,000 years. Parts of the walls contain megaliths weighing between 40 and 50 tons each.

NOTE: On the ferry ride(s), there’ll be chances to see the fabled Blue Lagoon, located on the unoccupied island of Cosimo.

DAY 6 VALLETTA MALTA (B)
Breakfast at your hotel, meet your guide at prearranged time by your guide, you will continue the sightseeing.

Today we’re taking a private vehicle to the Three Cities of Birgu, Senglea and Cospicua, the cradle of Maltese history. Perched on a pair of promontories that stick out into Spinola Bay, they are a sharp contrast to Valletta – small, quiet and time worn, yet wonderfully picturesque.

We’ll wander about with our guide on foot, checking out the Inquisitor’s Palace and stopping to peek in churches and forts.

This afternoon is free at leisure

DAY 7 MALTA – HOME (B)
