In the morning, enjoy a Salzburg City Sightseeing Tour including the reopened Mozart Residence or the Miracle`s Wax Museum. Renowned architects and artists worked throughout the centuries to create architectural jewels. since the 18th century until today you can hear the sound of Mozart’s Magic Flute and other famous compositions between those historic walls. Let Panorama Tours give you an insight into the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque aspects of the city as Mozart saw it. After the bus tour, you will visit the newly reopened Mozart Residence, on Markat Square. You will have the opportunity to see an informative multi-media show.
This afternoon, take an Original Sound of Music Tour.
A wonderful ride with breathtaking views of the landscape where the opening scenes were filmed. Relax and listen to the original Sound of Music soundtrack. Our English-speaking guide not only shows you the highlights of the film ‘Sound of Music’ but also the historical and architectural landmarks in the city, as well as a part of the picturesque lake district.
Highlights of the tour are Mirabell Gardens, Leopoldskron Castle, Hellbrunn Castle, Nonnberg Abbey, St Gilgen and Lake St Wolfgang and the Wedding Church Mondsee.
Day 3 Salzburg (B)
Full day is free to join the optional Hallstatt Tour
“Start the day travelling through the famous Salzkammergut (Lake area) to Hallstatt known as the ‘Pearl of the Salzkammergut`, passing many local villages on route which introduce you to the local area. On arrival in Hallstatt it is hard to know where to start, perhaps with a mountain train ride up to the entrance of the World’s Oldest Saltmines, from here a great view down onto Hallstatt, giving you both a magnificent view and helping you understand how Hallstatt started life.
Take a leisurely lakeside walk seeing how the houses above you cling onto the mountainside, pass by the Mullbach waterfall which allowed Hallstatt somewhere to grow. A visit to the local museum is also interesting. This area led to the naming of the Hallstatt period (years between 800 BC – 400 BC), a term now used worldwide. A must see place includes the ‘Bone house’ behind the Catholic church, proving an interesting view into local family life. Entrances are not included and payable on your own.
We then travel back via Abtenau and Russbach to Gosau, where the Gosau lake is located. This lake is famous for it’s beautiful view onto the Dachtsein Mountain Area.”
