Day 1 (Wed) – Arrive Beijing
Meet and transfer to the Beijing International Hotel.

Day 2 (Thu) – Beijing (B/L)
Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Summer Palace.
Optional Kung Fu Show with Peking Duck dinner, USD 60 per person.

Day 3 (Fri) – Beijing (B/L)
Badaling Great Wall (2 hours visit at least), Jade stone workshop visit en route. Photo -stop at the Bird Nest & Water Cube.

Day 4 (Sat) – Beijing (B/L)
Temple of Heaven (watch local people doing all kinds of morning exercise, including Chinese Tai Chi ), & Pearl factory visit. Hutong tour by rickshaw with a home visit.

Day 5 (Sun) – Beijing/Xian (B/L)
Fly to Xi’an. Visit to the Provincial Museum & Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
Stay at the Jian Guo Hotel Xian.

Day 6 (Mon) – Xian (B/L/TD)
Full day excursion to the Terracotta Warriors Museum, and visit to the ceramics & pottery workshop en route. Enjoy the Dumpling Dinner and Tang Dynasty Show tonight.

Day7 (Tue) – Xian/Lhasa via air (B/D)
Upon arrival Lhasa, transfer to Shambala Hotel . The rest of the day at leisure to adjust to the altitude. Dinner at the hotel.

Day8 (Wed) – Lhasa (B/L/D)
Visit to the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barskhor Street.
Lunch and dinner at local restaurants included.

Day 9 (Thu) – Lhasa (B/L/D)
Visit to the Sera Monastery, Norbulinka, Nun Monastery and a local Tibetan family.
Lunch and dinner at local restaurants included.

Day 10 (Fri) – Lhasa/Shanghai (B)
Fly to Shanghai. Rest of day at leisure.
Stay at the Ocean Hotel Shanghai.

Day 11 (Sat) – Shanghai (B/L/D)
Full day visit to the Yu Garden, Shanghai Museum, the Bund, Xintiandi and Pudong New Development Zone. Famous Shanghai Acrobatic Show tonight.

Day 12 (Sun) – Shanghai/Suzhou/Shanghai (B/L)
Excursion to the water town Suzhou, including the Garden of Master of Nets, Silk Spinning Factory , cruise on the Grand Canal and Pingjiang Road Old Town Area.

Day 13 (Mon) ––Shanghai (B)
Free day in Shanghai.

Day 14 (Tue) Exit Shanghai (B)
Departure transfer to airport.

OVERVIEW

In just two weeks, this affordable, small group journey summarizes the best of China with
an interlude of Tibet.

START / END

We begin in Beijing with the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, the
Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and other Beijing wonders. Continue to Xian for its famous
Terracotta Warriors and then fly over the Tibetan Plateau to Lhasa, Tibet’s spiritual
centre, where we visit the Potala Palace, Norbulingkha, Sera and Jokhang Temple, stroll
in the city’s old quarter the Barkhor, and visit a local Tibetan family. We end in Shanghai,
feasting our eyes on the night glitter of the Bund and then the skyscraper forest in Pudong.
